This database contains information about the designated coastal and marine protected areas in South Asia, compiled based on the holdings of the World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA), hosted by UNEP-WCMC, and MPA Global. The database is searchable by country, name of protected area, location, extent, national and international designations or IUCN category if designated. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information. Notice of any errors, changes to status or creation of new MCPAs, should please be provided to the web administrator for onward reporting to the WDPA or directly to protectedareas@unep-wcmc.org
